Dry mouth or xerostomia, is a condition that is caused by lack of saliva or other conditions. Symptoms include a sticky, dry feeling in the mouth, constant thirst, dry throat, dry tongue, difficulty swallowing and speaking, sores, and bad breath.
Treatments for dry mouth include drinking plenty of water, keeping up with oral hygiene, using a vaporizer, or using a saliva substitute. A common drug class used to treat dry mouth is the cholinergic agonists drug class.
