What is CMV?

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a herpes virus that has no serious symptoms and is considered harmless. Most healthy people are infected and do not know about it. Symptoms include fever, sore throat, and swollen glands.

Antivirals are usually given to treat CMV. These include CMV nucleoside analogues.
