Typical dosage for Cefprozil

Cefprozil tablets and liquid suspension:

Adults and children (age 13 years and older)

  • The typical dose ranges from 250 mg to 500 mg by mouth every 12 to 24 hours, depending on the type and seriousness of your infection. The typical length of treatment is around 10 days.

Children (age 6 months to less than 13 years old) Your child's provider will calculate your child's dose based on their body weight, type of infection, and how serious their infection is.

  • The typical dose ranges from 7.5 mg/kg to 15 mg/kg by mouth every 12 hours, to 20 mg/kg every 24 hours. The typical length of treatment is around 10 days.

Your dose might be different if you have kidney problems.
