What is the problem with Rybelsus?
Rybelsus (semaglutide) can cause gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. These tend to go away over time. Rybelsus also has a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors. This is due to findings from animal studies, but the risk for people hasn't been confirmed. Because of this, you shouldn’t take Rybelsus if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, or if you have a generic condition called multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2. Other serious side effects that have been linked to Rybelsus or similar medications include pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas), worsening diabetes-related eye problems, and acute kidney injury. View original source
