What is Eliquis used for?
Eliquis is FDA approved to prevent and treat unwanted blood clots. It can be used to lower the risk of blood clots and stroke in people with atrial fibrillation (AFib) not caused by heart valve problems. It's also used to lower the risk of blood clots in deep veins of the body — known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) — after hip or knee replacement surgery. Eliquis may also be prescribed to treat a DVT or pulmonary embolism (PE), or lower the risk of a repeat DVT or PE. View original source
