Mupirocin is not typically used to treat acne, but it may be considered for this use in certain cases. Medications such as benzoyl peroxide, adapalene (Differin), and doxycycline (Vibramycin, Doryx) are more effective and usually recommended as go-to acne medications. But finding the right acne medication can be difficult, and it often takes some trial and error.
