Rytary (
carbidopa and levodopa er) is used to treat Parkinson’s disease, Parkinson’s disease caused by infection or inflammation of the brain, or Parkinson’s disease-like symptoms that may result from carbon monoxide or manganese
poisoning. Rytary is a
DDCI, which works by increasing the amount of dopamine in your brain. This reduces the symptoms of
Parkinson's, such as body stiffness and
tremors. There are currently no generic alternatives to Rytary. It may be covered by your Medicare and insurance plans.
