Colonoscopies are common and safe procedures that help monitor your health and spot certain conditions early. While they have a reputation of being unpleasant, most of that comes from the preparation for the colonoscopy.

Your provider will give you specific instructions for bowel preparation. This takes place 1-2 days before the colonoscopy. It’s also good to check with your provider and make sure you aren’t taking any medications that could interfere with the procedure.
