What Are Lice?

Lice are insects that live in hair, eyebrows, or eyelashes. Lice are very spreadable, especially among school children. Lice can cause itching and red bumps.

Treatment for lice includes removing the lice eggs with a fine comb, washing bedding and clothing, and using lice treatments. Common drug classes used to treat lice are antiparasitics, cholinesterase inhibitors, pediculides, and pyrethroids.
