Compression socks are designed to help promote blood flow. They do so by gently applying pressure to your feet and ankles. This can be beneficial for treating swelling, varicose veins, and treating and preventing leg ulcers or deep vein thrombosis.

You can either get compression socks over the counter, or a doctor may prescribe them to you. There is no one-size-fits-all type of compression sock, so make sure you consult with a healthcare provider before using compression therapy.
