Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) medication used for weight loss and long-term weight management. Wegovy HD is a new, higher-dose version of Wegovy injections. It contains 7.2mg of semaglutide, which is 3 times the amount contained in the highest regular Wegovy dose (2.4mg). If you’re not seeing enough weight loss on the 2.4mg dose of Wegovy, your prescriber may recommend Wegovy HD. Please note, most patients experience more gastrointestinal side effects with Wegovy HD than at lower doses.
