Basaglar (insulin glargine) is a long-acting type of insulin. It is the first biosimilar insulin used to control blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus, including diabetes type 1 and diabetes type 2. The most common form of basaglar is a carton of five 3ml kwikpens. It is also available as a carton of five 3ml tempo pens. There are currently no generic alternatives for basaglar. It is covered by some Medicare and insurance plans, but some pharmacy coupons or cash prices may be lower.
