What is the difference between a Dexcom G6 and a Dexcom G7?

Dexcom G6 and Dexcom G7 are both FDA cleared for adults and children age 2 and older with diabetes. They both also take glucose (sugar) readings every 5 minutes, and their sensors both last for up to 10 days. However, the Dexcom G7 sensor is smaller and thinner than the G6 sensor, with a shorter warm-up time. And the G7 sensor and transmitter come pre-assembled and ready for insertion. The G6 sensor requires you to attach the transmitter separately during the insertion process. View original source
