What is the difference between a Dexcom G6 and a Dexcom G7?

Dexcom G6 and Dexcom G7 15-Day are both FDA cleared for people with diabetes. Both devices check your glucose (sugar) levels every 5 minutes. Dexcom G6 sensors last up to 10 days, while Dexcom G7 15-Day sensors last up to 15 days. The Dexcom G7 sensor is smaller and thinner than the G6 sensor, with a shorter warm-up time. And the G7 sensor and transmitter come pre-assembled and ready for insertion. The G6 sensor requires you to attach the transmitter separately during the insertion process.
