The Dexcom G7 sensor contains a small microneedle that allows it to measure the glucose (sugar) in the fluid beneath your skin. This microneedle is thinner and shorter than needles used to inject insulin. Many people find inserting Dexcom G7 sensors to be much less painful than pricking their fingers with a lancet to use a blood glucometer.
