What does Linzess actually do?

Linzess (linaclotide) helps relieve constipation from certain medical conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It also treats chronic constipation that doesn't have a known cause. Your body doesn’t absorb Linzess. Instead, it passes through your gut and pulls fluid into your GI tract along with it.
