Experience

Sophie Vergnaud, MD, is the Senior Medical Director for GoodRx Health. A pulmonologist and hospitalist, she practiced and taught clinical medicine at hospitals in London for a decade before entering a career in health education and technology. 

In the U.S., prior to joining GoodRx, she created and edited patient-facing clinical content at HealthLoop (now Get Well), a digital patient engagement platform. She also worked in partnership with Google Health to develop machine learning systems capable of predicting patient outcomes in hospitals.

After joining GoodRx in 2018, she was part of the small but mighty team that built the foundations for GoodRx Health. As GoodRx’s first medical editor, she was instrumental in establishing the company’s approach to creating trustworthy, science-backed health content and hiring the team to deliver it. 

Now, as Senior Medical Director for GoodRx Health, she oversees a close-knit team of passionate and experienced medical editors and health editors, a large team of physician contributors and journalists, and GoodRx Health’s Clinical Review Board.  

Education

Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland, Dr. Vergnaud studied at some of London’s most renowned medical schools: Guy’s, King’s, and St. Thomas’ Schools of Medicine at King’s College London. She graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in cardiovascular and reproductive physiology and earned her medical degree (MBBS) with distinction. In 2011, she became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP). She is fellowship-trained in internal medicine and pulmonology.
