— Kate Dubé, LCSW
Kate Dubé, LCSW, is a licensed mental health professional trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma therapy, infant-parent psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Kate provides psychotherapy to adults in all phases and transitions of life and specializes in perinatal mental health. She also has a certification in maternal mental health through Postpartum Support International and is an accredited provider with Triple P–Positive Parenting Program.
Kate has worked in the healthcare field for over 15 years. As a college student, she volunteered at the Berkeley Free Clinic. She stayed with them for 8 years, before eventually joining the board as treasurer. After observing many gaps in care, Kate resolved to understand the complex healthcare system from multiple angles. She went on to work as a patient advocate, researcher, and practice coach. In 2015, she settled into her calling as a mental health provider. She has continued to work with clients while researching and writing articles on contemporary issues in mental health.
Within her roles, Kate has analyzed systems for healthcare improvement, developed programs that center community voices, and promoted comprehensive and coordinated care to improve mental healthcare access. She is a California Social Work Education Center (CalSWEC) grant recipient for her work with pregnant and postpartum families at San Francisco General Hospital. She also has experience authoring and editing peer-reviewed research and presenting her findings at national and international conferences. Currently, Kate is a practicing licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in California.
When she’s not at work, Kate can be found on the trails or at the park with her dog, Linus.
Kate received both her bachelor’s degree in integrative biology and her master's degree in social welfare (MSW) at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). After finishing her MSW, she completed 3000 training hours with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She also completed an intensive practice-based training in multicultural infant and early childhood mental health.
