Jewels Doskicz, RN, BA, is an Arizona-based registered nurse with 22 years of hospital-wide clinical nursing experience and 11 years of medical writing and editing experience. She was a former healthcare content creator for a digital health tool at HealthLoop and director of clinical content operations at GetWellNetwork.
Jewels is now a freelance medical writer and editor for multiple outlets. Specializing in diabetes and autoimmune disease, she helps guide those with acute and chronic diseases on a healthy, positive path.
Both Jewels and her daughter live with Type 1 diabetes (T1D). So as a passionate patient advocate, Jewels draws from her extensive first-hand experience to empower people with the knowledge they need to live a healthy lifestyle. She also volunteers with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and was a former long-distance team cyclist for the JDRF’s Ride to Cure program helping raise funds to find a cure for T1D.
