Dr. van Meijgaard is a health economist with over 20 years of experience in healthcare informatics and has a knack for distilling meaningful insights from data. With extensive expertise in population research and the social, economic, and environmental determinants of health, Dr. van Meijgaard has published in leading academic journals.
These include JAMA Surgery, American Journal of Public Health, Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health and International Journal of General Medicine. At the UCLA Center for Health Advancement, he led research projects evaluating the long-term impact of health programs and policies with innovative modeling and simulation techniques that he later developed into the UCLA Health Forecasting Tool.
Prior to GoodRx, Dr. van Meijgaard worked at various healthcare and technology companies, using econometric analysis to improve health outcomes and increase price and quality transparency. Earlier, he advised Fortune 500 companies through his work at McKinsey & Company, specializing in business strategy, corporate finance and growth. He graduated from UCLA with a doctoral degree in health services research with a focus in health economics and completed graduate work in economics and econometrics at Brown University.
