Spasticity is stiff, tight muscles caused by a number of conditions. Reflexes are exaggerated and there is an increase in muscle tone.

Treatment for spasticity includes medication, physical therapy, and stretching. Common drug classes used to treat spasticity are acetylcholine release inhibitors, central alpha agonists, benzodiazepines, and muscle relaxants.
