Kaposi's Sarcoma

Kaposi's sarcoma is a tumor associated with AIDS. Symptoms include lesions on different parts of the body, coughing up blood, and shortness of breath.

Treatment for Kaposi's sarcoma includes highly active antiretroviral therapy to suppress the HIV, radiation therapy, cyrosurgery, and chemotherapy. Common drug classes used to treat Kaposi's sarcoma are interferon alphas, microtubule inhibitors, anthracyclines, and retinoids.
