Cluster headaches occur on one side of the head and are severely painful. They occur regularly for an amount of time and stop for long periods of time before they occur again. Symptoms include eye swelling, flushing, watery eyes, runny nose, and severe head pain.
Treatment for cluster headache includes taking medication. A common drug class used to treat cluster headache is the ergot derivatives drug class. Preventative care can also be done to prevent cluster headache. Smoking and drinking alcohol can bring on an attack.
