Chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a condition in which blood doesn't clot normally. This occurs because there is a low level of thrombocytes or platelets.

Treatment for chronic ITP include taking medication and using injections. Common drug classes used to treat chronic ITP are megakaryocyte growth factors and thrombopoiesis stimulating agents.
