Dopamine-agonists are used to treat Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome. These medications work by mimicking the action of dopamine, a natural substance in your brain that helps control several functions, such as movement and mood. Dopamine-agonists come in different forms, including oral pills and injections. Examples include pramipexole, pramipexole extended-release (Mirapex ER), ropinirole, ropinirole ER. Apomorphine (Apokyn) and rotigotine (Neupro) are other examples.
