No. Methylphenidate ER is not the same as Adderall. While they're both stimulants that can treat ADHD, they have different active ingredients. Methylphenidate ER is also a long-acting medication which is usually only taken once a day. Adderall is a shorter-acting medication, and you may need to take more than one dose per day. Adderall does come as a long-acting medication called Adderall XR, which is usually taken once a day. Methylphenidate ER and Adderall also have slightly different side effects and interactions to consider.
