Sonia Amin Thomas, PharmD, BCOP, has been practicing as a clinical pharmacist for 12 years and in oncology pharmacy for over 10 years. She practices both academic and clinical pharmacy and is board certified as an oncology pharmacist and integrative health coach. She has published papers and journal articles on oncology and is also certified in pharmacogenomics.
Sonia has been an associate professor of pharmacy practice at the PCOM School of Pharmacy-Georgia since 2012. She has practice sites for both inpatient and outpatient oncology at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital and Northwest Georgia Oncology Center in Roswell.
Sonia has also been a member of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association for almost 10 years and has served on the research and education committee. She is the founder and CEO of Dose of Sonia, which helps busy moms obtain a healthy lifestyle through coaching.
Sonia attended the University of Georgia from 2004 to 2007 for prerequisite work and then went on to pharmacy school at South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, Georgia as part of a 3-year accelerated program from 2007 to 2010. Afterwards, she completed her postgraduate year 1 residency at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. She then received postgraduate oncology year 2 residency training at Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit.
Sonia obtained her integrative nutrition and health coach certification in 2020 from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York to help breast cancer survivors on hormonal therapy. She also obtained her pharmacogenomics certification with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists in 2020.
