Sonia Ruparell, MD, is a licensed pediatrician and practices in New York. She completed her pediatric residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center and her pediatric sports medicine fellowship at Lurie Children's Hospital, which is affiliated with Northwestern University.

Prior to residency, Dr. Ruparell was a post-graduate research fellow in genetic medicine and pulmonology at the Ron Crystal Laboratory at Weill Cornell Medical College where she worked on research related to HIV and lung disease. During that time, she presented multiple times at the American Thoracic Society National Conference and won a scholarship for an abstract.

In residency, she focused her research on sports medicine-related topics and evaluated burnout within pediatric residents. She also presented her work at several local and national meetings and spent time teaching medical student seminars at Weill Cornell Medical College.
