Highlights

  • Graduated from Loma Linda University Medical School

  • Passionate about removing the mystery of how our bodies work and interact with illness

  • Wants to provide accurate and helpful information for parents about childhood illness and normal development

Misunderstanding of medical conditions is a large reason for people to dismiss their healthcare provider's advice. People need to understand what is going on with their bodies in order to take ownership of their own health, especially when it comes to women and children. Being a part of GoodRx gives me the perfect avenue to provide accessible healthcare information to help patients better control and understand their health.

Experience

Lauren Geoffrion, MD, is a current medical writer at GoodRx and MedicineX. She has written several articles on Psychiatry & Psychotherapy, a website that publishes CME-accredited podcasts and accompanying articles on mental health. She has also contributed to articles in the Investigative Journal of Medicine

While in medical school, Dr. Geoffrion was a psychiatry interest group outreach coordinator. She graduated with a particular interest in psychiatry, women’s health, and pediatrics. Afterward, she decided to delay medical practice and residency to become a medical writer. This allowed her the flexibility and free time to teach and mentor high school students. Now, she teaches physics and algebra 2. Even so, her passion has always been to help people of all ages understand otherwise complicated topics.

Education

Dr. Geoffrion received her medical degree from Loma Linda University and her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with a minor in biblical studies from Biola University.
