A registered dietitian nutritionist for 39 years, Janis Jibrin uses her knowledge of nutrition and health promotion to write articles, blogs, and books (including four that hit The New York Times’ bestseller list) and teach her super-smart students at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
She has also developed weight-loss and wellness programs for insurance companies, and in her small private practice she helps clients adopt a healthier way of eating.
Jibrin has a bachelor’s in foreign service from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she now lives. She has a master’s in nutrition from the University of Maryland, College Park. As part of her training to become a registered dietitian, Jibrin evaluated and treated children with developmental delays as part of a multi-disciplinary team at Georgetown University Hospital.
