Jana Botelho is a freelance editor and content creator in the pet industry. She is passionate about creating resources that help pet parents support their animal companions. Her expertise includes cat and dog health, with a particular interest in how the gut microbiome affects pet health.
Jana has over six years of experience in content creation at a biotechnology company specializing in pet microbiome health. Working closely with veterinarians, scientists, and other pet experts, she has edited and contributed to hundreds of pet health articles. Her work has also appeared in animal wellness and gut health publications. Jana is an avid animal lover, a cat mom, and a longtime volunteer with local animal rescues, including the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society and Cat Town in Oakland, California.
