Hilya Delband Tehrani, PsyD, has over 20 years of experience working with the autistic population. She began at a children’s partial hospitalization program while an undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduating from Pepperdine University’s clinical psychology program, she completed her postdoctoral training with a specialized focus on meeting the needs of neurodivergent individuals. After 11 years of being the clinical lead for an agency of over 100 employees specializing in autism services, Dr. Hilya went on to open her own private practice, Connected Strides, in 2010.
Connected Strides has been dedicated to serving the needs of autistic children and their families by providing psychoeducational evaluations and therapy services. Dr. Hilya finds great fulfillment in connecting with adults who question if they are autistic and want testing in order to re-examine the narrative of their experiences from a neurodiversity-affirming place. She is passionate about understanding how a brain that is wired differently requires more individualized supports and strategies to regulate. She aims to empower her clients with this self-awareness so they can be their own best advocates.
