Experience

Erum Ilyas, MD, is a Dermatologist and founded her private practice of 12 years, Montgomery Dermatology, which merged with Schweiger Dermatology at the end of 2020, in Pennsylvania. Dr. Ilyas has been practicing Dermatology for almost 20 years. She is the Academic Chair of Dermatology at Drexel University College of Medicine, Associate Professor of Dermatology, and the Dermatology Pathway Director. She has served as System Chief of Dermatology at Main Line Health System outside of Philadelphia and authored numerous peer reviewed articles. Dr. Ilyas has special expertise and research experience in textile interactions with skin. She has been consistently voted Top Doc in Philadelphia Magazine for years as well as the recipient of the Exceptional Women in Medicine honor for several years through Castle Connolly.

Education

Dr. Ilyas received her bachelor's degrees in philosophy and biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore Country, and her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine), where she completed her internship in internal medicine. She completed her dermatology residency and was Chief Resident of Dermatology at Cooper University Hospital of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She also received a master's degree in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
