Austin is a member of the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) and the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA). He volunteers as a peer-reviewer, editor, and writer for the AMWA Journal. Austin also contributes articles to the Hot Topics in Primary Care supplement to TheJournal of Family Practice.
Austin completed a bachelor’s degree in economics at Weber State University and then received his doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Utah in 2018. He subsequently completed 2 years of post-graduate residency training in Oregon — the first year within the Providence health system and the second year at Pacific University College of Pharmacy. During his second year of residency, he served as a faculty member at Pacific University College of Pharmacy, where he instructed pharmacy students in a variety of settings, including didactic and experiential learning.
