Amy Isler, RN, MSN, is a registered nurse who has worked primarily as a credentialed school nurse managing children with chronic health conditions, including diabetes, asthma, seizures, and food allergies. She built a school health services department from the ground up that incorporated everything from staff training to individual healthcare plans, mandatory screenings, special education services, and, most recently, COVID-19 guidance.

Amy is also a freelance nurse writer who is excited to combine her nursing and journalism expertise to educate readers on pressing health topics. Amy holds a master’s degree in nursing from California State University, Sacramento, as well as a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Chico. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from Samuel Merritt University.
