Aileen Chu, PharmD, has over 8 years of experience working as a clinical pharmacist in the emergency department, where she sees the consequences of people not being empowered to take their medications correctly. This experience has made her especially passionate about helping patients understand their medications and ensuring that medications are affordable and accessible.
In the emergency department, in addition to patient care, Aileen teaches and mentors students and residents from various colleges of pharmacy. She is a pharmacotherapeutics instructor for the physician associate Master of Science in Medicine program at Point Loma Nazarene University and has published on the use of anticoagulants for emergency department patients with deep vein thromboembolism (DVT).She is also a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology.
Aileen earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California.
She completed an acute care residency at the University of Illinois Chicago, and is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist.
