Lantus (insulin glargine) is a long-acting insulin. It’s used to manage blood glucose (sugar) levels in adults and children with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. It’s prescribed on its own, with other insulins, and/or with other non-insulin diabetes medications. Lantus is available as a vial and prefilled Solostar pen. It’s usually injected under the skin (subcutaneously) once daily. Its effects last in your body for about 24 hours. View original source
