Dr. Schwartz is among the first to be board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists.She has been in veterinary specialty practice and private clinical practice since 1984. During that time, she has held various academic/teaching positions including clinical adjunct professor at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Studies at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has also been on staff at prestigious specialty practices in Massachusetts, Maryland, and California, including Angell Memorial Animal Hospital.

Stefanie earned her undergraduate degree in psychobiology from McGill University before completing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Master of Science in ethology (the study of animal behavior) from the University of Montreal.
