Niousha Nader, PharmD, BCCCP is a critical care and geriatric specialist. She has over 12 years of hospital experience, which also includes pediatric, emergency, surgical, and oncologic pharmacy.
Niousha was a forerunner of the decentralized pharmacist role at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center. She was the first critical care pharmacist to work directly alongside nurses and doctors in UCLA Santa Monica’s medical ICU. She enjoys her position as the drug expert of the healthcare team.
Niousha belongs to the critical care division of the UC Pharmacy Collaborative Teams, which was developed to perform research, and improve pharmacy protocols and practices, to better patient care. To achieve this common goal, she collaborates with other critical care pharmacists across the University of California Health System. Niousha also works closely with hospital administration and healthcare providers within UCLA, to improve patient safety and provide best practices in patient care.
Niousha enjoys teaching pharmacy students and residents and is a preceptor for the critical care pharmacy rotation at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center. Her professional areas of interest include healthcare access, patient safety, and patient education.
In her spare time, she is interested in fitness and nutrition, and appreciates art in any form.
Niousha Nader, PharmD, BCCCP attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for her bachelors of science degree in psychobiology. Niousha graduated with honors from UCLA, before attending the University of California, San Francisco, for her doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD).
In 2010, she completed a pharmacy residency program (PGY-1) at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles. Since then, she has obtained board certification in the field of critical care pharmacy (BCCCP) and has been working as a critical care and geriatric pharmacist at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center.
