D. Edmund Anstey, MD, MPH, is a cardiologist practicing in New York City. He serves as assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center

As a cardiologist, Dr. Anstey is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and echocardiography. His clinical areas of expertise include general cardiology, critical care cardiology, echocardiography, and hypertension.

He is affiliated with the Association of Black Cardiologists and the American College of Cardiology. He is also an National Institutes of Health-funded clinical investigator with a research focus in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and understanding socioeconomic determinants of health. Alongside his medical career, he has published several articles and studies.

Education

D. Edmund Anstey, MD, MPH, earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He then received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and a master’s degree in public health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.

Dr. Anstey also completed his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he served as chief resident. Afterward, he earned both his cardiology fellowship and advanced echocardiography fellowship at Columbia University where he served as chief fellow.
