Carol Gee served nearly 8 years on active duty in the Air Force, and another 14 years in the Air Force Reserve, retiring after 21 years of military service. She also worked in higher education at the college level for close to 30 years. This included holding both teaching and administration roles at colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad, wherever she and her spouse, who spent his career in the military, were stationed. Carol also did a short stint as a mental health counselor, during which she counseled both groups and individuals.
Fondly known as the author of the “girlfriend” book series, she has written five books. Her freelance writing has appeared in such publications as Coping With Cancer, Diabetes Forecast, Woman's World magazine, and others.
Carol Gee graduated from Black Hills State University in South Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 1980. She also minored in psychology and political science. In 1982, Gee earned a master’s degree in human relations and management from Webster University in St. Louis. She also graduated from Inventory Management Technical School, Lowry AFB, in Denver.
