Soojin has 10 years of experience in various pharmacy settings, from inpatient to outpatient settings, and population health in value-based healthcare models. She completed training in various areas of healthcare to ensure patient safety, from activism, geriatric pharmacy, medication safety, healthcare quality, patient safety, death and dying, and trauma-informed care.
She cofounded Patients for Patient Safety US (PFPS US), a patient safety activist group under the umbrella of the World Health Organization, to elevate the voices of patients and caregivers at the policy level, which works with various governmental and nonprofit organizations. She is also a fellow at Patient Revolution, an organization founded by Dr. Victor Montori at Mayo Clinic, which researches and advocates for kind and patient-oriented care.
Soojin studied interaction design with a concentration in video at Columbia College Chicago and changed her career to pharmacy after losing her dad to multiple preventable medication harms. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2013. She was a fellow at the Jewish Healthcare Foundation for their Salk Health Activist, Death and Dying program and a Luminary Fellow at Doximity. She is board-certified in geriatric pharmacy, a certified professional in medication safety, healthcare quality, and patient safety, and a fellow at Patient Revolution.
