David L. Hill, MD, FAAP, has practiced medicine since 1998. He is currently a pediatric hospitalist at Goldsboro Pediatrics and the Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in North Carolina. He serves as treasurer of the medical staff at UNC Wayne Health and an adjunct assistant professor pediatrics at both the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hill is also the co-host of the flagship podcast of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), “Pediatrics on Call.”
He is the associate medical editor of a top-selling child care book, “Caring for Your Baby and Young Child: Birth to Age 5,” and the author of the book “Dad to Dad: Parenting Like a Pro.” He is also the co-author of the book “Co-Parenting Through Separation and Divorce: Putting Your Children First.”
Dr. Hill serves as an associate editor of patient education for the AAP's Pediatric Care Online, the chair of the AAP Council Management Committee, and an expert advisor for Parents magazine and Good Housekeeping magazine. He is an international speaker and consultant on medical communication and the effects of screen media on child health.
Dr. Hill received an undergraduate degree from Rice University and a medical degree from fMcGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He trained in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
