Caroline Amin, MD, started her career as a general pediatrician and an assistant professor of pediatrics at University of Connecticut. She also cared for pediatric patients, precepted residents and educated rotating medical students. Her practice included roles in a primary care clinic and newborn nursery. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Amin has worked exclusively as a neonatal hospitalist while continuing to educate medical learners.
She is a certified lactation counselor as certified by American National Standards Institute (ANSI). She has completed a certificate in perinatal mood disorders by Postpartum Support International.
Dr. Amin completed undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University, receiving Bachelor of Science in biology with focus in vertebrate physiology. She proceeded to medical school at Albany Medical College in New York where she earned an allopathic Doctor of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at University of Connecticut and Connecticut Children’s, where she stayed and remains as academic faculty. Dr. Amin is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics.
