Avutometinib capsules
Take this medication by mouth. Take it as directed on the prescription label on the same days each week. Do not cut, crush, or chew this medication. Swallow the capsules whole. Take it with food.
Defactinib tablets
Take this medication by mouth. Take it as directed on the prescription label at the same time each day. Do not cut, crush, or chew this medication. Swallow the tablets whole. Take it with food.
Your care team may change your dose or tell you to stop taking these medications if you get side effects. Do not change your dose or stop taking them unless your care team tells you to. There may be unused or extra doses in the bottle after you finish the dosing cycle. Talk to your care team if you have questions about your dose.
Take antacids at a different time of day than defactinib tablets. Take defactinib tablets at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after an antacid.
These medications are taken in cycles. There will be days you do not take medication. Talk to your care team if you have questions about when to take your medication. It is very important to follow the exact schedule. Taking it more often than directed can cause serious side effects.
Talk to your care team about the use of these medications in children. Special care may be needed.
If you miss a dose of avutometinib, take it as soon as you can, unless it is more than 24 hours late. If it is more than 24 hours late, skip that dose. Take your next dose on your normal scheduled day. Do not take double or extra doses.
If you miss a dose of defactinib, take it as soon as you can, unless it is more than 6 hours late. If it is more than 6 hours late, skip that dose. Take your next dose at the normal time. Do not take double or extra doses.
If you vomit after taking your dose of avutometinib or defactinib, do not take another dose. Take your next dose at your normal scheduled time.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Store in the refrigerator. Keep this medication in the original container. Get rid of any unused medication after the expiration date.
