Rolaids is part of the Alkalinizing Agents class and treats Heartburn. Alkalinizing agents are used to treat conditions associated with a low pH in the body. Some medications can work to treat gout and kidney stones by neutralizing uric acid in the blood and urine to keep down inflammation of the joints, and to prevent the formation of stones in the kidney. Others like sodium bicarbonate are available without a prescription to ease heartburn and acid indigestion. Rolaids is only available as a brand name drug. Compare alkalinizing agents.

Insurance Coverage

If your insurance plan offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you may be able to use funds from your FSA to pay for OTC medications that have been prescribed by your doctor.

Eligible medications often include treatments for allergies, cough and cold, smoking cessation, stomach issues, and many other common conditions. Some items like bandages, contact lense solution, and pregnancy tests may be eligible even without a prescription.

Check with your plan for details about your coverage.
