As if charging people over $15,000 per month for two specialty medications wasn’t already enough, manufacturer Bayer increased their prices by 8% in May to over $18,000 per month, according to a GoodRx analysis.

Based on a sample of claims reported by pharmacies across the country, thyroid meds like Synthroid and levothyroxine near the top of the list, while standard heart and diabetes prescriptions lisinopril (Zestril, Prinivil), atorvastatin (Lipitor), and metformin (Glucophage) are still very frequently prescribed—no surprises there.
