Liver cancer treatments have advanced over the last few decades. While at first, chemotherapy was the main treatment available, in recent years, a new class of drugs called targeted agents were developed to treat liver cancer. 

When targeted therapies are combined with other newer medications called immunotherapy drugs, there’s usually an even better result in fighting liver cancer that has reached more advanced stages (but treatment outcomes vary for everyone).
