Asmanex HFA Side Effects
What should I watch for?
Visit your doctor or health care professional for regular checks on your progress. Check with your health care professional if your symptoms do not improve. If your symptoms get worse or if you need your short acting inhalers more often, call your doctor right away.
This medicine may increase your risk of getting an infection. Tell your doctor or health care professional if you are around anyone with measles or chickenpox, or if you develop sores or blisters that do not heal properly.
Using this medicine for a long time may increase your risk of low bone mass. Talk to your doctor about bone health.
Common and Rare Side Effects
Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:
Body aches or pain
dryness or soreness of the throat
Abdominal or stomach pain
fever or chills
loss of appetite
lower back or side pain
White patches inside the nose or mouth
Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
Difficulty with moving
feeling sad or empty
increased abdominal or stomach pain and cramping during menstrual periods
lack of appetite
loss of interest or pleasure
muscle or joint pain
muscle pain or stiffness
nasal burning and irritation
stomach discomfort following meals
stuffy or runny nose
bloody mucus or unexplained nosebleeds
bloody or cloudy urine
difficult, burning, or painful urination
excess air or gas in stomach or intestines
frequent urge to urinate
general feeling of discomfort or illness
lower back or side pain
unusual tiredness or weakness
