quinapril (Accupril)

ACE Inhibitors

Quinapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used in the treatment of hypertension and heart failure. An ACE inhibitor given 24 hours after a heart attack improves outcome. It is also available as brand name Accupril, and in combination with the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide (as quinapril/hctz). ARBs (Diovan, losartan) are a similar class of blood pressure medications.
