Potassium chloride ER is part of the Potassium Salts class and treats Hypokalemia. Potassium salts are used to treat gout, kidney stones, and hypokalemia. They work by reducing the acidity in the blood to reduce swelling of the joints; prevent crystals from forming in the kidney; and providing electrolytes needed in the blood to increase potassium levels.
